Brainstorming and planning of music marketing project

    When presented with the music marketing project, my group knew that planning was a necessary step in assuring our project was of quality work. Using Google Drive, we made a folder for the project, accessible by all four members. The folder contained a schedule that we meticulously devised; this assures we complete certain aspects of the projects by certain deadlines and do not fall behind. The group created the schedule together since doing so would make sure it works well for all members. 
     The Google folder also includes a research chart containing case studies, similar bands, and more information. Research prior to commencing a project is key as it gives one insight and background on the topic at hand. After researching, my group created a band logo and an image both also found in the Google folder. All the marketing of the band was created with our research in mind in order to fit the genre and audience. There was a small issue with beginning to work as a group on the music video plot as the members did not yet feel comfortable with each other. However, the next class period the atmosphere was less stiff and everyone felt more comfortable sharing ideas; this allowed us to devise a plot that incorporated all of our ideas. 
     When considering the marketing portion of the project, we brainstormed as a group and after listening to our song a couple of times agreed on a storyboard for our music video as well as the overall idea for the marketing campaign. Collectively, we worked using Canva to execute a PowerPoint that portrays our band in a marketable light. The entire group also has access to the Canva as well. We have agreed to market our band over several platforms and in a way that fits the researched audience. The next steps are editing the music video and elaborating on our marketing campaign for our band.
